When will we allow moslems to be moslems!???? It will be a travesty if he is prosecuted for practicing his religious beliefs. Where is the ACLU and the 9th circuit court to stand up for this man and his civil rights to practice his faith (which it seems he understood the ways of the prophet very well)? Or maybe he'll be reprimanded for performing religious rites on public property? Maybe they'll treat him as if he'd placed a cross on a public hill, but I wouldn't count on it.

I wrote a post on FPM recently where I stated my admiration of the military and how they do their duty no matter who is in office or what poor leadership is running a war. Now, not only do they have to tolerate the afore mensioned but they have to live with this PC crap of allowing anyone into their ranks regardless of their background, profile, or open misgivings of America. This is total BS and is another example of liberal mental disorder. I couldnt beleive it when I was listening to the news and they said the FBI was going to do background checks on the three shooters. Oh now they are going to do background checks, now, not before they enlisted, but after, after they do their damage, because we wouldnt want to hurt their feelings. If I was in the military I would be watching my back, and to tell the truth, I would refuse to work with any one I felt was a threat. You could throw me in the brig if you want but at least I wouldnt die for "their" cause. Tell you what, why dont you generals grow a pair and stand up for you soldiers, come what may. This is what is called patriotism.

I like that he kept us safe, I like that he pushed for the surge in Iraq, I like that he deposed Saddam Hussein, and I especially like that he wasn't Al Gore or John Kerry. Run the 2000 and 2004 elections over and I'll still vote for Bush, despite his failings (see below).
What I don't like about Bush: He was about as articulate as Sean Penn speaking without a script, he never fought the Democrats over Social Security reform, in fact he never fought over anything. I believe, like Bill Clinton, for personal political cover President Obama is exerting all the force of his office to cover up this tragic attack on U.S. soldiers by a Islam extremist, otherwise why did the FBI immediately come out an say that this deadly attack had nothing to do with terrorism. First, it certainly was terrorism, maybe not directly ordered by radical Islamic militants but certainly influenced by it. And, one of their tactics is to encourage individual attacks against U.S. citizens and soldiers, which is what appears to be occurring in some of the preemptive arrests. Speaking from both sides of their mouths - they said that no-one knew why the perpetrator had done this - and then in the same sentence - went on to say that he was stressed from working with returning war vets (and therefore not responsible) - but then actually implied those vets may have PERPETRATED WAR CRIMES THEMSELVES while in Afghanistan & Iraq - and this is what must have sent this man over the edge.
The blood hasn't even dried on the victims bodies - and NPR is BLAMING THE US MILITARY for these murders.

NAIS (The National Animal Identification System), is a so-called disease tracking food safety program the USDA is forcing on those who own even one chicken or any other farm animal. Many are being signed up without their knowledge or permission. Non-food animals such as horses, llamas, parakeets, etc are included in this program. Over 90% oppose this program yet the USDA continues to force this unwanted program on those who need it least. Under NAIS you register your premises with the govt, (thereby losing property rights) , microchip all critters at big cost, report all their movements, births, deaths to a database within 24 hrs or face huge fines, then risk losing them to depopulation if disease is suspected in a 6 mile radius! Currently, only sex offenders/child molesters are tagged tracked and register their premises. Animal owners will be tracked closer than illegals, drug delaers, sex offenders or this guy that blew away 13 people and wounded others. Protection from disease is why we are told NAIS is needed, but the real reason is for the benefit of big agriculture/factory farms so they can sell meat globally. But they do not have to tag/ track individual critters. They get ONE lot number for each animal group. And the tracking of any animals stops at slaughter, after which many food safety issues occur. The listening sessions held during the summer by the USDA about NAIS show the people are overwhelmingly against NAIS. But the USDA said these sessions showed "substantial support" for NAIS... I am deeply appauled that we are discussing the mental state of this cold blood killer who attacked our soldiers not on the battlefield but in a crowded processing center. This worthless hunk of camel dung, had given away is furniture and koran, carried weapons onto a military installation or withheld them from an arms room (both violations of Army policy) and then entered a crowded processing center at a time he knew it would be crowded so he could inflicted his most deadly action on this brave Americans.

I'm with Hanoch on this one. The condemnation is premature. Analysis of the facts, however is not. I for one do not believe that the US goes far enough to shut down religious fanaticism and intolerance. Freedom of religion is just that, but when extremists believe that DOMINATION of religion at all cost is the end goal, that freedom should be lost. Because "we" refuse to do that, we cannot distinguish peace-loving muslims from jihadists, which is why Islamization of America is such an imminent danger to our stability. So the question becomes, are we persecuting a man because of his exercise of his freedom of religion....a fundamental right that we all enjoy. In this case, it seems from what little I have read thus far that freedom of religion should have been trumped by earlier investigation, but was not. Perhaps we could avoid placing ourselves in the position of wondering what the driving force was behind this man's actions if we sacrificed a little political correctness in the first place and asked the difficult questions preemptively rather than retrospectively.

When I first turned on the TV and heard about the attack, my first reaction was "I'll bet you he's a Muslim", and sure enough I was right. As the news came in, in the succeeding hour or more, I wanted to shout at the mainstream media and their "experts": "Daaaaaaaaah! Wake up and connect the dots you knuckle heads." It seemed they did everything but mention the word "Muslim" or "Islam." Even the word "terrorism" was hardly mentioned. 7/11 and 11/5 are not the last because, it seems, the powers-that-be in American society (as well as others outside the USA) are clueless bordering on stupidity.

I recall when those Negroes were running around Maryland and Washington shooting people. There was something in one of the messages they left, that I thought was strange. It was not what they said, but the way they said it. I thought, who talks/writes like that? After a while I realized that the person who wrote the message was likely from the West Indies. They were still at large, at this time. An expert, who was a retired NYPD police officer (don't know how that qualifies him as an expert) insisted, and continued to insist that is was most likely an "angry white man". He made this statement with absolutely no evidence to support the claim. I can't recall anyone calling him on it.

Hello.
You have doubtless heard or read about the murders at Fort Hood. This morning I read two accounts in the Wall Street Journal. The print version is short and blandly uninformative. The version Online is much longer, with several important details about the murder's life, times, problems, etc. But still bland, refusing to address the subject of Muslims killing people, mostly non-Muslims, except in the case of Honor Killings and other complicated situations. I include below the entire story as it appeared online.
Military suicides and murders are up, dramatically, as soldiers are called back for multiple, multiple tours of duty. Too, there is now since B Hussein Obama started his endless campaign for the presidency--the drumbeat of opposition. But now that he has to act--he (Obama)merely acts out. The effect on troop morale has to be enormous. More and more they look over their shoulders to see if ANYBODY in the US really supports what they are doing. Obama is intenrally conflicted by -Only God knows the total number-- opposing motives for what he does and does not do. I will not rehearse here the growing litany of his outrageous statements, but ones such as proclaiming his discomfort at the idea of the Japanese surrender at the end of WWII is utterly insane. He has mentioned that victory is not his motive--only finding a solution. His well-rehearsed hand salute for the recent Dover Photo-Op shows evidence of long practice before a mirror, old stuff for BHO--no doubt.
A survey of his cabinet choices and the exponentially expanding list of Czars who rule without accountability or qualificatiions reveals culpability in the selections, and treasonous actions and words by the individuals involved. Fortunately, the recent elections are moving the right way--but we must keep unremitting presuure on the process or the hoped-for amelioration through the 2010 election process will not happen. Obama vows to reach out to "young people," meaning the ACORN, SEIU, and all associate groups will be liberally endowed by SOROS $$$$$$. The dead shall rise from their graves, and illegals shall have bestowed upon them whatever it takes to get into an election polling place--count on it.
Back to Fort Hood. Islam advocates a way of life based on belligerence, xenpohobia, suspicion, and absolute control of its followers. It is no wonder that Muslims explode: Islam demands hostility toward non-Muslims. It's in the book (Koran, Yusufali translation--and all other translations, too, but the Saudis are especially fond of Yusufali and do hand it out at their numerous mosques here in the US.) All of this leads to a quite inevitable conclusion--having Muslims in the US Armed Forces, or even in the government, is asking for extra problems. In the vernacular "Not too swift." Shortly after 11 Sep 2001 the FBI reported that a MUSLIM agent who refused to participate on phone taps on Muslims' line was simply re-assigned. How astute is that!!!
Please read the article below. Notice the great lack of conclusion or surmise re: Islam. The print edition is even more sanitized. I am trying to get a conversdation with an editor of WSJ to chat about policy.

What people don't understand is what Islam instructs its followers in order to be considered orthodox or devout. What does Islam teach? What does it expect of its adherents? What are the values Islam imparts on its beliviers? What is good and what is bad in Islam?
Once you do the research, read the Koran and the hadiths, the terrible truth hits you; the more devout a muslim is, the more of a danger to society he becomes, unless that society is a sharia based emirate. A devout muslim is a theocratic warrior designed to convert or kill all that are not of his faith. Think the borg or the replicators; the individual in islam lives to serve the community and the tenants of Islam, he/she has no importance outside of the community, he/she has no worth except the service he/she provides to Islam as a whole. This is why westerners have such a hard time getting their minds around Islam and muslim actions; it is absolutely anti-thetical to our civilizaition, our norms, our habits, even or feelings and reasoning. Which is not surprising if you look at history since Islam was designed to be an anti-jewish, anti-Christian, anti-hellenistic belief system. Why would it be in any way compatible with our culture society or government? We (westerners) want to fit Islam into the same box we put fringe religion of our own culture. We try and put Islam in an amish box, or a hassadim box, or a separatist mormon box. But islam does not fit any of the religious examples that come from Judeo Chrisitan culture; which again is only natural because Islam is inherently anti Judeo Chirstian. The only way I have ever been able to get people to begin to understand what Islam is, was be using the analogy of Vikings with a book. Vikings with a holy book and monotheism. So people think oh it is just like Christianity and Judaism in that it is monotheistic and has a holy book too... but they forget that Viking aspect, Islam takes all the pagan warriror values of the Viking era and codifies it into their holy book and morality; while Christianity and Judaism are religions that try to move people beyond paganism and warrior values.
What is the solution, I am not sure, but certainly the first step is to tell the truth about Islam and really to create a world where the truth can be told about Islam without facing Danish Cartoon riots, Komaini fatawas, and other death threats. If we can agree on never fearing to tell the truth the rest will follow. Islam is incredibly fragile in that sense; it can not withstand the process that Judaism and Christianity endured in the Enlightenment and modernity; Islam can not withstand rational analysis and criticism. It will dissolve. But not before whipping itself into a violent hysteria to silence all the truthsayers; which is what we see today, a mass islamic movement to silence people who would tell the truth about Islam.

While I disagree with some of what you assert...For example: "Islam can not withstand rational analysis and criticism" No western religion, Islam included, can.
And I don't see how you can effectively argue that it is Anti-Christian by nature; after all, who else but Jesus defeats the Mahdi on the Islamic day of judgment? Jesus is a central hero to most sects of Islam (certain Shia excluded).

You wrote a thoughtful post and it's appreciated. For the forseeable future, the next 40 to 50 years, whomever tells the truth about Islam will face riots, fatwas and Muslims going berserk. Islam itself is a religion of arrogance, supremacism and gender-apartheid as practiced in the ME and in many parts of Asia and Africa.

This terrorist attack just infuriates me! There were so many red flags around this maniac Hasan so why was nothing done? Beyond the obvious Jihad that Spencer writes about, and I agree with him, there are two aspects of this case I hear very little talk about:
1--Why are American soldiers killing thousands and thousands of Muslims who had nothing to do with 911? I was led to believe that bin Laden and al qaeda were responsible for 911.
Warmongers Bush/Obama told us 'this is not a war against Islam' but they both lied. That's exactly what this is and because we're at war with Islam, we should expect to see more Fort Hoods.
The right thing to do is get out of Afghanistan and forget about the Bush/Obama/McChrystal agenda to nation-build there, providing new highways, homes, parks, libraries, schools, computers, TV's, fresh water plants and food and health care for every Afghani. That will take another 100 years, a liberal estimation, without success but the real question is do we have enough troops-NO, do our European allies want to supply more troops-NO, can we afford it-NO. So why do we want to stay in Afghanistan while willfully allowing our own government to go bankrupt?

Thank you steve Chavez... right on target. The genocide in Darfur has been going for over thirty years. I wonder at the hue and cry over Darfur in recent years. What took people so long????? Seems to be Hollywood's latest reason to put themselves forward. nothing more. Read Francis Bok's book Escape From Slavery. I read this several years ago,right after he wrote it, and it made a real impact on the way I feel about Islam.. Islamic Janjaweed raiders went to his village, killed male villagers, raped and mutilated the women, and he was taken into slavery for 10 long years.. He was only 7 at the time, but escaped at age 17. These raids have gone on for all those years, and they continue even now.
There are some real fruit bats living in this country, who don't understand the radical mind of the Islamic. They need to read the Qu'ran, and pay attention to the horrible things that have been done in the name of Islam. And they better start praying, because they will not stop until we are all Dhimmis, paying the jizyah

Want to know what is most likely to happen? Your leaders will not tell the truth which I believe was that at Fort Hood Nidal Hasan acted in the name of his religion shouting "God is Great" as he shot innocent soldiers, innocent people. He became a suicide shooter believing that his act would give him glory and 72 virgins in Muslim heaven. Sure he most probably acted alone but I wonder how many Muslims in America, indeed around the world are celebrating at the moment.

I want to comment about the terrible massacre at Fort Hood as follows.
When are America's citizens going to get so angry and say' is enough' to Islam extremists.
Other migrant groups have successfully assimilated and integrated to embrace American culture and patriotism. Under the tenets of Islam, Muslims must place their Religion above all else including Country, family and community. Fort Hood is another example of a 'moderate' using his obligation of Jihad and becoming a suicide martyr at the expense of 13 dead, innocent victims and countless more wounded.
Mad or stressed Psychiatrist- what a joke. He knew what he was doing, he was lucid and had made the organised, well planned steps to murder as many non- believers as he could. The only mistake from his religious point of view is that he didn't die.
If his beliefs and values were so contradictory to America's policies than he wouldn't have been employed in the services. He was just a good, obedient Muslim waiting for the right opportunity to act for his "God" in a manner which is sanctioned by Islam.
Now is the time to get angry and say we aren't going to allow it to happen again. And if weeding out the bad guys will step on many peoples toes - so be it.

Your analogy is flawed, because there is no similarity between a lone person like Jesse James, and Osama Bin Laden/all of Islam that requires the subjugation of the world. Oh well, people like you will never get it, until one of our cities is nuked. But then if it isnt your city and your still alive I am sure you will make excuses for it because we were over there.

I agree with 'sk' wrote above. We leave Afghanistan and Iraq with as much damage as possible and pull back slowly with utter toughness. We announce on loudspeakers that for every murder or disability of US soldiers they cause, even a failed attempt, we will blow up a mosque and other institutions.....even if we built or repaired it for them.
If violence continues, we announce we'll drop tons of bombs on them. We remind of the $50 million reward (or whatever the amount is now) for bin laden and his men on loudspeakers and we leave.
And then, we leave, one brigade at a time. What will happen in Iraq and Afghanistan? They'll be glad we're gone, will think real hard before attacking us again and go back to killing each other. Ishmael respects brutal force and that's all.

It is a tragedy that the real criminals in this and other cases like are not held responsible for their failures. While the murderous acts of Nidal Hasan and other Muslims who choose jihad against non-believers are reprehensible they are simply following the edicts of the Koran. Why does the media continue to coddle Islam when time and time again they display nothing but intolerance for different faiths?
The mass media outlets that fail to report the shortcomings of Islam that continue to lead to the death and injury of non-believers are without question complicit in those injuries.
By refusing to tell the whole story about honor killings so as not to offend the society that condones this practice young girls in the USA are murdered or live in fear of being killed by their parents. Instead the media ignores these cases because they are an embarrassing component of Islam that needs to be corrected.
A US Army recruiter is killed by a Muslim in Arkansas . Denounce this aspect of Islam to the world that it is a form of genocide and racist to kill someone because they are not Muslim. Instead the mass media minimized the coverage of this event to avoid embarrassing Muslims worldwide into facing this flaw in their faith.
Islam will not correct itself from within. It perceives itself as perfect. And it is probably a stretch to think that objective exposure of the flaws within Islam will lead to some sort of reformation in its intolerance toward non-Muslims.
Media exposure of flaws within a financial institution,political organization or a religion should act as an agent for correcting those flaws when the law ignores the problem or simply fails to do anything. The failure to be objectively critical of now obviously genocidal behavior is only going to embolden future Jihadists.
Media refusing to make the connection between broken components of Islam and the murder of people who do not subscribe to this faith are implicitly responsible in those deaths. When the Nazis systematically tried to eliminate undesirables in the pursuit of Hitler's Master Race the world rose up and condemned this practice. How is it any different if the Muslims try to eliminate people of other undesirable faiths?

Yesterday on the TV they interviewed the father of a female soldier wounded in the shooting. She told her father that Hasan walked into the Readiness Center, yelled "Allah Akbar" and began shooting. She felt it was a training scenario for a moment until the soldier next to her was shot dead.
"Allah akbar" means god is great, I'm pretty sure. This is not the case of a soldier loosing it per se but the case of a Muslim acting in the name of their religion and their god, Allah. He murdered in the name of Allah. That is Jihad to me.

Everything I have read of Marx is coming true. There is no escape. Capitalism is the most horrific form of economic planning ever conceived of and all wealthy land owners love it. The vast majority of the population in America get no benefits whatsoever from it. In fact many have lost their homes and their jobs and have no health care. They will continue to have no health care even under the new plan that is just pap for the masses. That I do not understand and either did the government that pushed it though and that was by plan. If you would really make a study of the Islamic faith you might find a lot of similarity between it and Christianity. Both worship the same God and are not polytheistic like they are in the Orient. Let's be honest. The only way we "changed the minds" of the Nazis and the Japanese in WWII was to break their will to fight. We made the cost of resisting us too high. We mandated changes in their educational system where the tenents of Nazism and Bushido were no longer instilled into their youth.
Are we doing similar things today in Iraq and Afghanistan? No, because that is no longer politically correct. Practical, effective actions be damned. We are limited to politically correct actions. That's why both Iraq and Afghanistan still have the legal right to kill apostates of Islam To be a Christian or Jew openly in either society is to invite death.
Islam is basically incompatible with a free society. So I believe we are throwing our money down a rat hole to build a sembilance of something (democracy) that is unsustainable in any Islamic culture. It's simple a manner of time before some Islamic cleric points out that democracy is against the Quran, and all the teachings of Mohammed, and lead a revolt to overthrow it.

In the 1970s and '80s, we in mainland Britain had to encounter all kinds of Irish terrorist atrocities (eg. bombs on the London subway; I lived there then) side by side with them getting public support from politicians (eg London mayor Ken livingstone), and being given all kinds of "rights" and legitimacy; and we were able to do nothing about it. Sadly, they were mostly financed from the US, and whenever a terrorist escaped there, a judge ("liberal", no doubt) would deny extradition. It's an evil world.

U.S. Officers entering the service must receive a commission from the President of the United States, and U.S. Enlisted personnel volunteer their service.

Under NAIS you register your premises with the govt, (thereby losing property rights) , microchip all critters at big cost, report all their movements, births, deaths to a database within 24 hrs or face huge fines, then risk losing them to depopulation if disease is suspected in a 6 mile radius! Currently, only sex offenders/child molesters are tagged tracked and register their premises. Animal owners will be tracked closer than illegals, drug delaers, sex offenders or this guy that blew away 13 people and wounded others.
Protection from disease is why we are told NAIS is needed, but the real reason is for the benefit of big agriculture/factory farms so they can sell meat globally. But they do not have to tag/ track individual critters. They get ONE lot number for each animal group. And the tracking of any animals stops at slaughter, after which many food safety issues occur.
The listening sessions held during the summer by the USDA about NAIS show the people are overwhelmingly against NAIS. But the USDA said these sessions showed "substantial support" for NAIS... You have doubtless heard or read about the murders at Fort Hood.
This morning I read two accounts in the Wall Street Journal. The print version is short and blandly uninformative. The version Online is much longer, with several important details about the murder's life, times, problems, etc. But still bland, refusing to address the subject of Muslims killing people, mostly non-Muslims, except in the case of Honor Killings and other complicated situations.
I include below the entire story as it appeared online.
Military suicides and murders are up, dramatically, as soldiers are called back for multiple, multiple tours of duty. Too, there is now since B Hussein Obama started his endless campaign for the presidency--the drumbeat of opposition. But now that he has to act--he (Obama)merely acts out. The effect on troop morale has to be enormous. More and more they look over their shoulders to see if ANYBODY in the US really supports what they are doing. Obama is intenrally conflicted by -Only God knows the total number-- opposing motives for what he does and does not do. I will not rehearse here the growing litany of his outrageous statements, but ones such as proclaiming his discomfort at the idea of the Japanese surrender at the end of WWII is utterly insane. He has mentioned that victory is not his motive--only finding a solution. His well-rehearsed hand salute for the recent Dover Photo-Op shows evidence of long practice before a mirror, old stuff for BHO--no doubt.
A survey of his cabinet choices and the exponentially expanding list of Czars who rule without accountability or qualificatiions reveals culpability in the selections, and treasonous actions and words by the individuals involved. Fortunately, the recent elections are moving the right way--but we must keep unremitting presuure on the process or the hoped-for amelioration through the 2010 election process will not happen. Obama vows to reach out to "young people," meaning the ACORN, SEIU, and all associate groups will be liberally endowed by SOROS $$$$$$. The dead shall rise from their graves, and illegals shall have bestowed upon them whatever it takes to get into an election polling place--count on it.
Back to Fort Hood. Islam advocates a way of life based on belligerence, xenpohobia, suspicion, and absolute control of its followers. It is no wonder that Muslims explode: Islam demands hostility toward non-Muslims. It's in the book (Koran, Yusufali translation--and all other translations, too, but the Saudis are especially fond of Yusufali and do hand it out at their numerous mosques here in the US.) All of this leads to a quite inevitable conclusion--having Muslims in the US Armed Forces, or even in the government, is asking for extra problems. In the vernacular "Not too swift."
Shortly after 11 Sep 2001 the FBI reported that a MUSLIM agent who refused to participate on phone taps on Muslims' line was simply re-assigned. How astute is that!!!

Which is not surprising if you look at history since Islam was designed to be an anti-jewish, anti-Christian, anti-hellenistic belief system. Why would it be in any way compatible with our culture society or government? We (westerners) want to fit Islam into the same box we put fringe religion of our own culture. We try and put Islam in an amish box, or a hassadim box, or a separatist mormon box. But islam does not fit any of the religious examples that come from Judeo Chrisitan culture; which again is only natural because Islam is inherently anti Judeo Chirstian.
The only way I have ever been able to get people to begin to understand what Islam is, was be using the analogy of Vikings with a book. Vikings with a holy book and monotheism. So people think oh it is just like Christianity and Judaism in that it is monotheistic and has a holy book too... but they forget that Viking aspect, Islam takes all the pagan warriror values of the Viking era and codifies it into their holy book and morality; while Christianity and Judaism are religions that try to move people beyond paganism and warrior values.
What is the solution, I am not sure, but certainly the first step is to tell the truth about Islam and really to create a world where the truth can be told about Islam without facing Danish Cartoon riots, Komaini fatawas, and other death threats. If we can agree on never fearing to tell the truth the rest will follow. Islam is incredibly fragile in that sense; it can not withstand the process that Judaism and Christianity endured in the Enlightenment and modernity; Islam can not withstand rational analysis and criticism. It will dissolve.
